The Rivers in Nepal

A tiny mountainous country Nepal is rich in water resources. some of them are the rushing torrents , tranquil lakes , splashing rivers, unique springs and underground water resources . among them the rivers play the most important role in Nepal. most of them rise from big lakes or mountains. they flow through mountains , rocks and plains. the major rivers in Nepal are mechi, koshi, bagmati, narayani, gandaki, karnali, mahakali and others. the koshi in the eastern part of nepal is the largest, the narayani is the deepest and the karnali is the longest rivers in nepal. all these rise from mountains. these rivers are very clean but the sacred rivers bishnumati and bagmati in kathmandu have been highly polluted. the amount of the water in all the river's during dry season slightly decreases but in the rainy season , it gets increased. each big rivers has several tributaries.
